Christine joined the Kang lab in 2015 as a postdoctoral researcher. She is currently a Researcher at UMN, leading the Kang lab genomics team in using bioinformatic tools, long read sequencing, and molecular genetic approaches to identify pathogenic variants, genes, and pathways involved in neuromuscular and other rare genetic disorders. Christine has a broad interest in population and evolutionary genetics. Her doctoral research at the Oceanographic Center of Nova Southeastern University included topics in population and conservation genetics, molecular ecology, and molecular evolution of several shark species. Christine has an MBA from Rice University and a BS from the University of Minnesota. She has over thirteen years of general management, corporate finance, operations, and sales and marketing experience in start-up companies in the biotechnology, information technology, and non-profit industry sectors. In her free time, Christine enjoys hiking and hopes to return to her pre-pandemic hobbies including scuba diving, rock-wall climbing, and contra dancing.
